Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of rentahater.com (the “Platform”) operated by Sepiida Labs (“we,” “us,” or “our”). “You” means the individual or entity accessing or using the Platform. By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

1. Eligibility and jurisdiction

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform. The Platform is authorized only for users located in the United States. By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you meet the age requirement and are accessing the service from within the United States.

2. Approved usage

The Platform is strictly for entertainment purposes only. It is designed for:

• Humorous trolling, fair criticisms, roasts, and playful interactions.
• Requests where the “target” (person, brand, or subject) is publicly accessible and verifiable.

The following are not permitted and may result in immediate suspension or ban and forfeiture of funds (including amounts in escrow):

• Hate speech, bigotry (including racism, anti-LGBTQ+ content, and similar), doxxing, threats, or otherwise aggressive or harmful content.
• Using the service for anything other than the approved, entertainment-oriented uses described above.

Proof of fulfillment must be something an independent third party can verify (e.g., publicly viewable links or content). Proof that cannot be verified by a third party is not acceptable as fulfillment.

Any user who knowingly violates the age requirement, geographic restriction, or the intent of the Platform as set out in this “Approved usage” section is subject to immediate ban and forfeiture of funds, including those in escrow.

3. Your responsibility; no endorsement

Use of the Platform is at your discretion. Rentahater.com and Sepiida Labs are not responsible for the requests made or fulfilled by users. We do not promote or encourage harassment, threatening behavior, violations of privacy, or personal attacks. You are solely responsible for your conduct and the content you post or request.

4. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when signing up and keep your account secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

5. Trademarks and parody

“Rent-a-Hater” and the Platform are a parody of Rent-a-Center and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Rent-a-Center. All trademarks, trade names, and other intellectual property of Rent-a-Center are the sole property of Rent-a-Center. We make no attempt to masquerade as Rent-a-Center or to suggest that our service is associated with their brand. Parody is protected under U.S. law as a form of expression and fair use.

6. Payments and refunds

All payment and payout processing is handled by Stripe. Responsibility and liability for financial processing, including refunds and disputes, lie with Stripe and are governed by Stripe’s terms and policies. We do not store your full payment card details. By paying or receiving payouts on the Platform, you also agree to Stripe’s applicable terms.

7. Prohibited conduct

You may not use the Platform to violate any law, infringe others’ rights, abuse other users, or circumvent our systems or policies. We may suspend or terminate your account and take other action, including forfeiture of escrowed funds, if we determine you have violated these Terms or the approved usage in Section 2.

8. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, to the extent permitted by law, including any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for gross negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

10. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Platform shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Connecticut, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

11. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

12. Entire agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other policies we publish on the Platform, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Platform and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Material changes may be communicated by posting the updated Terms on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Platform and may close your account.
